My name is Kay Evans. I am a Makaton Tutor and Special Needs teacher with 35 years of experience. I offer both face-to-face and online Makaton Training. I can work with schools and nurseries to boost communication skills through Makaton-based sessions. I provide communication advice, support and training.

What is Makaton?

Makaton is a language programme that uses signs and symbols to help people communicate. It’s designed to support spoken language: the signs are used alongside speech, in the same order as spoken words. Makaton signs are based on the signs used in British Sign Language (BSL). ​

Welcome to our Makaton training program! Our certificated training is delivered by licensed tutors, allowing you to build your knowledge progressively from Level 1 to Level 4. Each level is priced at £90 (plus travel expenses if relevant) for face-to-face sessions or £95 for online training, including Post & Packaging.

This 3-hour interactive workshop is designed for emergency services teams who want to improve frontline communication. Makaton uses signs and symbols alongside speech to help you give clear instructions, build trust quickly, and reduce fear or confusion when time is short.
